AI-powered product discovery

Constructor provides an advanced, AI-powered product discovery suite that consists of several main components:

  • Search
  • Autocomplete
  • Browse
  • Recommendations
  • Collections
  • Quizzes
  • Content Search
  • Attribute Enrichment
  • Merchant Intelligence
  • AI Shopping Assistant

Search

Constructor Search is a service that receives a search term together with optional filtering parameters and returns results. In the screenshot below, Constructor powers both the results for "bananas" and the filter/facet options shown on the left-hand side.

Autocomplete

Constructor Autocomplete provides instant search and product suggestions as user types. In the screenshot below, a user types "banana" and sees a list of search suggestions (which are search terms that will be submitted to the search engine when clicked) and product suggestions (which will take users to a product page when clicked) below the search box.

Browse

Constructor Browse powers category and brand pages. The browse feature is similar to the search feature, but it does not require a specific search term. In addition, search, and browse pages may be tuned and optimized independently via the Constructor user dashboard.

Below is an example of a "Breakfast & Cereal" browse page.

Recommendations

Constructor Recommendations provide a variety of strategies that let users navigate to similar items. Our recommendations strategies include:

  • Complementary items (someone buying "toothpaste" will see toothbrushes)
  • Alternative items (someone buying "toothpaste" will see other kinds of toothpaste)
  • User-featured items (items that the Constructor personalization engine has learned a user may be interested in)
  • Zero-result page recommendations (items that the user may be interested in related to a search term that didn't return results)

Below is an example of alternative item recommendations on a product detail page for shorts.

Collections

Collections are a powerful tool to create groups of items based on dynamic rules. For instance, one can define the Cyber Monday collection as "the set of all items from the Electronics category which cost less than $200, as well as all laptops that cost less than $800." You can also imagine a collection composed of SKUs curated by a merchant team for a holiday email campaign.

Quizzes

Constructor Quizzes allows you to ask users customizable questions to better understand their needs. You can then use these insights to match them up with just the right products within your catalog to provide them a curated experience that meets their needs. This is achieved all within the Constructor dashboard where you can build relationships between products in your catalog and answers to questions customers provide, build different flows within the quiz based on how users answer them, and ultimately provide them with a curated list of products that match their criteria.

Content Search

Constructor Content Search allows you to serve searchable content experiences on your site to provide site users with all kinds of complementary content, and much like Search, it returns results from your index of content based on the given query. This could be content like blogs, articles, buying guides or recipes. This can be represented in a variety of ways on your site, including within Autocomplete and Search.
