Configuring Recommendations

All Recommendations pods, strategies, and rules are created on the Constructor dashboard. Refer to the Dashboard home section to learn more about setting up Recommendations pods, strategies, and rules.

Integration methods

Once you've set up your Recommendations in the dashboard, we recommend one of the following integration methods to get Recommendations results in your marketing automation platform and message delivery tools:

1. Data template: Direct API calls at email generation.
2. Image service: Code snippet to inject recommendation images directly into email upon open.

Data templates

Some Marketing Platforms provide data templates to directly input API parameters into the tool and request results directly. If this is the case, please reference Retrieve by pod section to get API format to post parameters into your tools data template capability.

Image service

Our Recommendations image service delivers product images via HTML snippets to Marketing Tools.

Steps

1. Design your marketing campaign and product card image format
2. Create Recommendations pods & strategies in the dashboard
3. Paste Constructor provided HTML snippet into your marketing message templates
4. Update parameters with correct parameters, including Pod ID, personalization parameter, and position number
5. Test and send your campaigns
